Fall Collection

We have reported already that New York Fashion Week started on the 13th of February and some great designers have unveiled their collections telling us this way what is going to be in vogue this fall.
Mara Hoffman was one of the couturiers to give us visual instructions about fashion for the next season.
She is one of my favorite designers and this time she was able to surprise me again. Her fall 2009 collection was really chic and sophisticated.

Luxurious materials, nice prints, rich embellishments and original style were combined in one line.

Sounds interesting, isn’t it? And it’s worth looking at!!!

Fall 2010

Yesterday was the fifth day of New York Fashion Week. Many famous designers presented their marvelous collections.
Among them I want to single out Badgley Mischka’s line which impressed me a lot.
The whole collection is classy and sophisticated. Luxurious fabrics, plenty of sequins, nice perfect accessories made the attires really wond
erful.

The collection included many evening gowns which were absolutely stunning. And the color palette is amazing: chic black, wine red, scarlet, bright yellow, gold, rich blue – all in perfect style and fabulous detailing.

Styles of neckline vary a lot: corsets, one shoulder, asymmetrical styles, V-necks – were widely presented in the line of dresses

Fall and Winter

Handknitted Fashion

Women’s Clothing line. Fall - winter collection. High class Fashion.

All the designs here are originals. They were created to make every woman feel comfortable, stylish and elegant, wherever she is. Of course, everything is touched by fashion; the highest achievements in this traditional craft are taken advantage of; the ‘Babini kuki’ look is ever present; and the range of colours goes far beyond the traditional for this type of clothing.
The result is a rich collection of designs, which would measure up to any woman’s tastes and preference, without compromise.
Each garment is hand knit, with luxury packing, has a unique number and passport. It can never be identical to the next.
The women’s fall-winter line consists mostly of classic sweaters and blouses, with the most beautiful patterns and stitches imaginable, some of which you won’t see anywhere else. A few of them are two-colour designs - a most difficult task for the knitter.
Jackets and pullovers with a definite youth fashion style are introduced. Again, the ‘Babini kuki’ look, the fashionable style, the stitches and patterns are everything which would make a young woman feel beautiful.
The Exclusive line of wool sweater coats shows an artistic approach to an otherwise common piece of clothing.

Fall

There's so much inspiration to be had in the Alexis Mabille Fall Couture collection. From color to texture to detail and form, every piece is a bride's dream come true. I love the lacy dresses, the black ribbons and the deconstructed forms. While these aren't bridal gowns per se, the elements are all wedding related. I love the idea of wearing black shoes with a white gown, even a wedding gown. It's dramatic but so striking. The use of ribbons throughout the collection inspires me to think about veils and headpieces in new way. How does it inspire you?

From style.com, "Alexis Mabille is the young contender at Paris couture—a new talent with a romantic touch, a French sensibility, plenty of skill at his fingertips, and a refreshing way of thinking about merging old ways with new."

Here are some detail shots from Chanel Fall 2009 Couture. I especially love the beaded veil, fur shrug and textured tights. For more pieces from the collection, click on today's Daily Inspiration.

Fall Fashion Woman’s Cape

The woman’s cape (aka Lady’s Cape) is a cultural remnant from the 1800s. Worn by southern women in the Civil War era, the cape hasn’t help cultural significance for over a century – yet the Fall 2009 runways were adorned with the look. We love the classic simplicity of the cape, and hope the look makes its way North for the winter.

Fall Fashion Tips

http://i863.photobucket.com/albums/ab196/menfashion/CUI20.jpgThis year's fashion trends for men are following the same path as last year with a few new twists. Preppy is still in but don't pull out your old high school cardigan. The styles have been smartened up a bit. Argyle sweaters are back again this year along with cardigans and sweater vests. Pair them with suits, sports jackets or a pea coat. The western look is also in but don't overdo it. This is still the east coast.
The season's male fashions continue with paisley, checks, plaids and even florals for men's button down shirts. Pair these with black chinos (yes it says black not khaki) or grey jeans (the new in color for men
And speaking of color, dark reds, black, navy and purple in addition to grey are making the scene for men this fall. If you aren't brave enough to wear a purple shirt, then try it in accessories like a tie. Grey is back in a big way in the grey suit. Pinstripes are still going strong but grey flannel suits are in with a vengeance.

The other "in" fabric this season is velvet even for men, but if that is a little too over the top for you, then stick with corduroy.
No matter what you do for fall fashion, be comfortable, be yourself and look good

Fall Fashion Trend

Speaking of colors, last fall it was all about sage greens. This year the color of the season seems to be brown. Brown is everywhere ? suede jackets, pin-stripes pants, skirts and scarves. Add to that splashes of other fall colors like the ones mentioned above, mellow purple, fuschia, orange, etc. and you have the perfect Fall 2005 look. Here is a quick preview of this year?s fall fashions for those looking to update their wardrobes.

The Look: Old-world inspired. Think elegant sepia photographs from the 1940s and 50s. Casual yet sophisticated.

The Trends:
- Tweed skirts, pants (full length and cropped) and culottes in brown plaid or pinstripes. Also making quite a debut are knit jersey gauchos. Very comfy but cool casual.

- Shirts and blouses in floral prints in mellow fall colors. Nothing too overstated.
- Solid color sweaters (no diamond argyle prints like last year). And thanks to Martha Stewart who donned one on her homecoming trip from prison, ponchos! Stick to solid colors, experimenting with designs can get tricky.

- Knee high boots (everyone can carry these off).
- Animal print scarves, faux fur collars (so cool, I just love these)
- Large hobo handbags (must have, anyway). Also, texture is really in - suede, metal, houndstooth prints, anything out of the ordinary.

- Silk kurtis or Indian style tunics in large floral prints in blocks of fall colors.
- Embellished belts ? with tassels, ribbons, sequins, etc.
- Fedora hats (if you like that extra touch of elegance). Some celebrities are also donning big floppy suede hats as well.
