Groomsmen Attire

Being a groomsman is an honor that comes with numerous responsibilities. Along with being a close confidante of the groom, you also need to be the most attractive looking guy at the wedding (after the groom, of course)! Choosing the best wedding attire for groomsmen can be tedious especially when you are not at all into fashion trends. Well, groomsmen attire is all about being attractive yet subtle at the same time. Wish things would have been as simple as going to the market and getting the most unique groomsmen attire in a matter of minutes! However, you needn't worry as I am here to help you out with the dilemma of selecting the best wedding dress for groomsmen.

Groomsmen Attire Etiquette
So, you are in the role of a groomsman who is often the most trusted brother, colleague or friend of the groom. Amongst all the groomsmen responsibilities, buying your own wedding attire is your prime responsibility. Groomsmen wedding attire is as important as the groom's attire and hence, planning for it must happen at the same time as purchasing the groom's attire. The biggest thing to consider is of course the wedding theme. If it is a traditional formal wedding then you may need a nice fitting tuxedo and also select from the options for boutonnieres for groomsmen. There can be a debate about the color of the tuxedo but you should go with the color of the groom's tuxedo. Opt for a tailored jacket, waistcoat, matching trousers, and a bow tie. More on formal wedding attire.

Destination Wedding Groomsmen Attire
When it is a destination wedding, you need to be particular about the location of the wedding. If the wedding is held at a beach then you need casual attire while if it is held in some cathedral or historical monument, then a semi formal wedding attire might work well for the occasion. You need to take adequate precautions that the dress reaches well in time to the wedding destination. For that, pack your suit in a carry-on bag and carry it with yourself. Let the security people be aware about it. The flight attendants and other staff will also be of help in such scenarios. If the wedding is being planned outdoors, on a cruise or on a beach, then you need to select a semi formal or casual wedding attire. You need to buy or rent a nice semi formal wedding attire which is less fuzzy and more stylish. Opt for a tuxedo and cummerbund with a bow tie. More on wedding etiquette.

Beach Wedding Groomsmen Attire
Beach weddings are much more chilled out and are relaxed versions of customary formal weddings. Hence, you have a lot of scope for experimentation with your clothes. When you are looking for groomsmen attire ideas for a beach wedding, your job gets even more easier. You just need to make sure that the clothes that you wear are quite comfortable to carry in the heavy flowing beach wind and are not overwhelming for the casual mood of the wedding. If you want, you can also opt for a simple sports coat or a plain morning suit for the event. But try to wear it in the most casual manner. Similar to formal attire, you need to make sure that the clothes that you are wearing is complementing the groom's attire.

Casual Groomsmen Attire
You can opt for long sleeved or half sleeved shirts, but make sure that you wear them in a button down manner. The color of casual wedding attire matches the theme of the wedding but you should not refrain from trying bold colors. Go for loose fitting white linen shirts with a pair of khakis or drawstring pants. You can also wear light blue, beige, light orange, etc. The best choice would be to wear a Cuban guayabera and other loose fitting shirts with bold prints of tropical flowers and match it up with a pair of knee length white shorts. Along with the clothes, you also need to consider the accessories and shoes. Needless to say, your shoes should complement the outfit that you have chosen. For instance, avoid leather shoes for a casual or beach wedding and slippers for a formal wedding!
