A Closet Full Clothes

When you get ready for a dinner, or to go out with your friends do you spend hours in front of the wardrobe searching for something to wear?

Is your closet brimming with clothes yet somehow, you still have nothing suitable for the occasion?

You are not alone.

It simply means that it is time to reorganize your wardrobe.

Put it simply, what you don't see, you probably wouldn't wear. Chances are, the perfect outfit for the occasion is hiding somewhere in your closet. You just don't see it. Looking for it is like searching for a needle in a haystack.

First, prepare yourself to be brutal. Set aside an entire afternoon (or day) for your wardrobe spring cleaning. (or winter cleaning, whatever)

Keep only what you will wear and throw out everything else. I mean it.

First, go through everything to see if it still fits you. If the item fits, put it in the keep pile. If it doesn't, put it in the discard pile.

Now go through the keep pile. Is anything there really out of fashion? Don't wait for it to get back in fashion. If that look every comes back, you can buy a new, more updated version. Put all these outdated item in the discard pile.

If you are broke, you can sell the items in the discard pile on ebay. If you want help the needy, you could donate the clothes to a worthy charity. If you like second hand clothes, you could hold a clothes swap session where you exchange these clothes with your pals for something you would probablly wear.

Now that you have significantly pared down your keep pile, time to sort it out. What are the items not appropriate for the current season. Fold these up nicely and store them in drawers lined with scented paper so they will smell fresh when the season is right for them.

Iron the clothes you have left in your keep pile. Sort them by type of clothing and color and prepare to keep them in your closet. Do the same for your bags, shoes and the rest of your accessories.

Organize your wardrobe. Make it really easy to find what you want at a glance. Get some closet organizers to help you make full use of the space of your wardrobe and to organize your stuff so you know where to find what you want when you want it.

Pack your keep clothes and accessories back into the closet, sorted by color, type and function so you can find what you want at a glance.

Take stock of your wardrobe. Do you really have nothing to wear?

Look at your daily schedule. Do you have clothes that will carry you through all the events in your daily schedules? Write down the events that you really don't have anything to wear to.

Look through your appointments. Do you have something to wear for every one of these appointments? For every one of these functions? Take note of the functions or appointments which you need to buy clothes for.

Now go through all the events where you probably would not have anything to wear. What are the items that could take you through these events? List them down. Then go and shop for them

Pearl Necklace N Earring

real pearl necklace

My colleagues and i love pearl jewelry very much, sometimes we will talk about how to tell if our pearl necklaces or earrings are real or fake, i will list our methods to distinguish between real pearls and fakes. I hope they will be helpful to you too.
First, real pearl necklaces or earrings feel rough or gritty, but fake pearls feel smooth.

In order to test them, we can rub two pearls gently together, if the surfaces are glassy smooth, these pearl necklaces or earrings are probably artificial. However, if the surfaces are texture, these pearl necklaces or earrings are probably genuine. Another funny test is to test by rubbing a real or fake pearl against your tooth. If the pearl is made of plastic or glass, it will feel smooth. If the pear is real, we can see natural texture on the pearl necklace or earring.

Second, if the pearl necklace or earring is sold at an unbelivable price, i think we need to test it more carefully, as we all know, there are no pies dropping from the sky.

Third, imitation pearl necklaces or earrings are usally made by glass or plastic beads, the coating will chip over time. So we can check pearl necklaces or earrings near holes drilled trough them for tiny chips or flakes. If you see some chips, your pearl necklaces or earrings may be fake.

Fourth, real pearls can be either natural or cultured. Natural pearls are usually irregularly shaped and not very attractive, so the naturally round pearls are precious. However, the majority of perfectly shaped pearls are cultured.

At last, if you have better methods to test if pearl necklace or earring is real or not, please share with us! Good luck!

Jewellery Maintenance

How do you take care of your jewelleries? For jewelleries to maintain its shine and beauty, you need follow these easy steps that will make your treasured jewelleries last for decades.

First of all clean it after every use. Mix two cups of warm water with a few drops of mild dish washing detergent you use at home then soak the jewellery in there for about 15 mins. You also need a used toothbrush to scrub it afterwards while rinsing it with clean water. Then dry it completely using a tissue.

Secondly, when you're not using your jewellery for a long period time, be sure to polish it once every two months to keep its shine and beauty.

And lastly, always store your jewelleries in a jewellery box and make sure not to place jewelleries too close to each other to prevent scratches or entangle them with each other that can cause damages.

Jewellery Tips

A gem with a higher rating can scratch a stone that is lower. Diamonds are the hardest and highest at 10. Rubies and sapphires are Mohs 9. Garnets, tourmalines, quartz are 7.

Anything softer than 7 (opal, turquoise, lapis lazuli, coral, and pearls) can be scratched quite easily. Gold, silver, and platinum are only Mohs 2-1/2 to 4. Which means they are very soft and need special care when wearing, storing or cleaning.

Gold is a rare, soft, and very valuable metal. As a jewelry consumer, you have probably encountered the term "karats". 24 karats denotes 100% pure gold.

Any karat value below 24 is the amount of pure gold that occupies the gold jewelry alloy. For example, 18 karat equals 18/24ths of pure gold which is 75% gold. Likewise, 14 karat equals 14/24ths of pure gold which is 58.5% gold.

The remaining mixture of non-gold metals are not very important in determining value, but are primarily used to increase strength and vary color in gold jewelry.

In many countries, the law requires that every item of gold jewelry be clearly stamped with its karatage. This is often controlled through hallmarking, a system which originated in

London at Goldsmiths' Hall in the 14th century. US law requires hallmarking of all gold jewelry and the legal minimum gold karatage is 10k. When buying gold jewelry, always make sure that it is properly stamped with the karatage.

Also, make sure that you know the karatage and price when buying gold jewelry. Although the color may not differ much, the actual value between 10k and 18k gold differs greatly.
Silver can achieve a great polish and does not tarnish in its pure form. Most silver jewelry is silver combined with other metals (alloys). This makes it more suitable for general jewelry use. Pure silver is usually alloyed with copper to enhance its durability and prevent damage to the metal.

Typically, sterling silver consists of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent copper. Over time oxidation reactions will occur, especially with sulfur and oxygen, causing silver to become tarnished.

Care should be taken to prevent this tarnishing, and many commercial products are available that will easily remove tarnish buildup that silver naturally acquires.

Sterling silver is the most reflective out of all precious metals, and is scratch-resistant but not scratch-proof, so use care when cleaning and storing tp leep its beauty.

Platinum jewelry is usually in the neighborhood of 90-95% pure. It is more "solid" than gold in terms of how resistant it is to tarnishing by chlorine and other chemicals. Fortunately, platinum is very durable and does not lose its polish very easily. Cleaning patterns are the same as other metals.

There are many different types of jewelry, some of which require specific care and cleaning procedures.

Ask your jeweler about the specific stones that are in your piece. Many natural gemstones are treated or enhanced from the time they are extracted from the earth by one or more traditionally accepted jewelry industry practices.

These treatments and enhancements can affect how you should clean and care for your gemstone jewelry.

Ask your jeweler for more information on caring for treated or enhanced gemstones. However, there are some general care and cleaning rules which apply to all jewelry.

Daily Care

Don't wear your jewelry twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. While many of us love to wear our favorite pieces day and night, the most effective way to preserve them is to limit the exposure to daily elements, the wear-and-tear of daily life.

Don't leave your jewelry on when doing home cleaning, gardening, playing sports and other types of heavy work or manual labor. Remove your jewelry before bathing or swimming.

Even the hardest gemstones can be vulnerable to breakage if they have inclusions that weaken the crystal structure. Exercise common sense: remove your jewelry during strenuous work or exercise. Diamonds are the hardest substance on earth but they can shatter in two with a single well-placed blow.

Rubies and sapphires are the toughest gems but even they can chip if hit sharply. Take particular care if you have a ring set with a gem variety with a hardness less than 7 or an included stone. Treat each piece of fine jewelry you own with respect and you will enjoy it forever.

Be wary of makeup, moisture, and chemicals that may affect your jewelry's appearance. Many personal care products can be harmful to your jewelry.

This includes soaps, lotion, make-up, perfume, shaving cream, and hairspray. These daily elements can form a dull film that covers the piece and is hard to remove. You can easily prevent this by removing them before grooming.

Ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly after applying makeup before putting the jewelry back on. When you prevent the formation of film, you'll cut down on the need for cleaning. Some stones and beads are dyed so it is best if you do not swim or bathe with jewelry on.

You can test in an inconspicuous spot by wetting a tissue, rubbing lightly, and seeing if any dye rubs off. Be careful when removing your ring to wash your hands. Do not leave your ring on the rim of a sink where it can easily slip down the drain.

Do not expose your precious gemstone pieces to salt water or harsh chemicals, such as chlorine or detergents.

These chemicals may slowly erode the finish and polish of gemstones. It's a good idea to remove jewelry before entering a chlorinated pool or hot tub or putting your hands into water with bleach.

Chlorine, especially at high temperatures, can permanently damage or discolor your jewelry, including the metals. Remove jewelry before you do any household chores. Some common household cleaners have bleach and other chemicals that may adversely affect jewelry.

Do not subject gemstone jewelry to sudden temperature changes. Excessive heat and sudden temperature changes may also fracture the gem. Heat can easily remove the natural moisture some gems need to keep their beauty.

Pearls, for instance, can dry out, crack and discolor. Opals will turn white or brown, develop tiny cracks, and might lose their play-of-color.

Light and heat can affect a colored gemstone's durability and color. Just as the sun's harmful rays can damage our skin, over time and in excess, it can also fade and weaken some gemstones, such as amethyst, kunzite, topaz, and pink conch-shell cameos.

Pearls and other delicate materials, like ivory, will bleach under extreme exposure to light. Other gems, especially amber, can darken over time when exposed to too much light. Do not wear jewelry in a tanning booth.

Examine your jewelry on a regular basis for damage. Check any gemstone settings periodically for possible damage to prongs or bezels.

If you see a loose prong, or if the setting looks out of line, immediately bring it to a professional for repair. Be certain that stones mounted in rings are not loose or rattle. The prongs of a ring can and do wear down. If the prongs wear down too much or break, you've lost the stone.

Prongs are easily "retipped" by most jewelers to keep the stone secure. Check your jewelry for scratches or other damage, and bring it to your jeweler if there is any; he or she may be able to repair it.

Take your platinum piece to a qualified jeweler for polishing if visible scratches appear. All precious metals can scratch and platinum is no exception. However, the scratch on platinum is merely a displacement of the metal and none of its volume is lost.

Always remove your sterling silver jewelry when using cleaners that contain any bleach, alcohol, polish remover, turpentine, ammonia or acetone. These can cause irreversible damage.

Do clean fine jewelry often to maintain its sparkle and beauty. You may read about many different ways to clean your jewelry.

These are some basic recommendations and precautions that you should follow to maintain your jewelry's beauty and to prevent permanent damage. When in doubt, ask a reputable jeweler first!

General Cleaning

After each wearing, gently wipe each piece of jewelry clean of make up and skin oils with a 100% cotton, chamois or felt cloth.

All fine jewelry can be safely cleaned by soaking for 10 minutes in warm soapy water (using a non-detergent soap). Use a soft brush on harder gems to loosen any dirt around the prongs.

Rinse with warm water and lay the jewelry out to dry on a towel or pat dry with a non-scratching cloth. Do not use toothpaste as its abrasives can damage softer gems and metals.

Polish gently with a jewelry polishing cloth if needed. Rub the cloth lightly in a lengthwise manner and not in a circular motion. Use only the special cleaning cloths and polishing cloths designed for jewelry, or 100% cotton, chamois or fine felt.

Other materials, including tissue and paper towels, should be avoided as items like these may cause scratches because of fibers present in the product. Avoid touching your clean jewelry with your fingers. Handle clean jewelry by its edges.

Commercial Cleaners

There are cleaning products available for all types of precious metals, but if your piece is set with gemstones or other components, clean those substances and care for them as you would if they were not paired with the metal.

Chemicals in some products can damage certain gems, such as pearls, even if they are considered to be mild. Even soft brushes used in applying cleansers can do damage to some gems. Read the label, and if in doubt, do not use a chemical cleaner.

Some gemstones that cannot be placed in most commercial jewelry cleaners are: pearls, lapis lazuli, malachite, amber, opals, coral, turquoise, aquamarine and jade, just to name a few! You can make your own cleaning formulas at home, but the same precautions apply to these as the commercial formulas. Use caution with the gems!

Ultrasonic Cleaners

Home ultrasonic cleaners are best used for jewelry without gemstones. The ultrasonic may also be suitable for some diamond-set jewelry; however, the intense vibrations can loosen gems.

DO NOT use the ultrasonic on porous gems such as lapis, coral, or dyed gemstones. NEVER use ultrasonic cleaners on organic materials (such as amber, bone, coral, horn, ivory, and pearls).

Gold & Platinum

Gold and platinum are cleaned in the same manner. If a little more cleaning is required than just the soap and water, try using soap and water mixed with a few drops of ammonia, or a light solution of ammonia and water.

Rinse well and dry completely. Ammonia should not be used on the same types of gemstones that should not be used with commercial cleaners. Grease can be removed from jewelry by dipping it into ordinary rubbing alcohol or vodka.

A 14 karat gold tongue ring is not recommended for smokers, as the nicotine will cause the ring to discolor rapidly and is hard to restore the color back to normal. 14 karat gold tongue rings should also be worn for special occasions, not all of the time. Moisture can cause the ring to tarnish more quickly as can sulfides from some foods.

High-End Silver jewelry is often finished with rhodium giving it the appearance of platinum and is generally regarded as tarnish resistant. If your jewelry is finished with rhodium, clean it with a jewelry cleaning cloth and polishing cloth.

Silver that has not been treated with rhodium is cleaned in much the same way, but will require more frequent polishing to maintain its luster. With brand new silver jewelry, a polishing cloth is typically sufficient.

To achieve the best results with jewelry containing gemstones, a liquid fine jewelry cleaner is recommended. Do not use silver dip as this will damage the rhodium finish and is known to remove color and polish from certain gemstones, including turquoise and pearls.

Although it may be acceptable to use silver dip on pieces that are not set with gemstones or finished with rhodium, the chemicals are extremely harsh and should be reserved for instances in which the item is completely tarnished, such as antique sterling silver items. The dip solution should not be used for extended soaking, but in a dipping manner and then rinsed and dried.

Clean your sterling silver jewelry with a mild soap and water solution, allowing the water to bead up, and then patting dry with a soft cloth.

For more stubborn dirt, use a jewelry cleaner designed for silver use. (If you do use silver cleaner, make sure you keep it away from any gems set in the silver.) The highest recommended product to use for removing tarnish from sterling silver jewelry is a silver cloth.

The best way to clean in places that a polishing cloth will not reach is very simple and you probably already have what you need in your kitchen. Take a small bowl that will hold about a half quart of water and line it with aluminum foil.

Add hot water and a tablespoon of Tide or Arm And Hammer washing powder (not liquid or with bleach) and stir. The boric acid in the washing powder causes a reaction with the aluminum foil and the tarnish will leave the silver and attach to the aluminum.

Place your jewelry in the solution for about 1 minute and rinse with clean water and air dry. If you have a build-up of dirt in hard to reach places, just put a little dish washing liquid in a bowl of water and soak over night.

This will usually loosen the dirt enough that it will release itself from the jewelry, if this does not work, use a soft tooth brush to loosen the dirt and soak it again.

Another method for removing tarnish is an aluminum foil pie pan, a box of water softener (calgon, rain drops etc.), and a salt container.

Put warm water in the pie pan along with a couple tablespoons of water softener and a couple tablespoons of salt - whisk the jewelry around for a few seconds in the solution and all tarnish is gone. Rinse well and dry.

Copper & Brass

Although not as common, jewelry may be made from copper or brass or have copper or brass components. Copper and brass are also very simple to care for. While they do tarnish more quickly than sterling silver, they can be restored to their original shine easily.

As with sterling silver, copper and brass jewelry will tarnish slower if stored in a recloseable plastic bag or jewelry case with anti-tarnish paper.

Whatever method you use, if the piece has any stones or other components, clean and care for it as you would if they were not paired with the metal.

There are commercial copper and brass cleaners. Again, be sure that any stones in the jewelry can withstand the chemicals in the cleaner or do not use it.

Catsup shines up copper and brass quite nicely. Apply it with a toothbrush or soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid getting catsup on the types of stones that should not be used with chemical cleaners.

Worcestershire sauce will also clean and shine copper and brass. Add the worcestershire sauce to a small dish, and place your jewelry in the dish for a few minutes, remove, and rinse thoroughly.

This method should also not be used with gemstones or pearls that cannot be cleaned with chemical cleaners.
Another kitchen cleaner method for copper and brass is a combination of water, lemon or lime juice and salt.

Add a few drops of lemon or lime juice to a container of water, then add a teaspoon of salt and stir gently. Place the jewelry in the solution for a few minutes, then remove and rinse thoroughly. If needed, the dip in the solution can be repeated. Again, this method should not be used with gemstones or pearls that cannot be cleaned with chemical cleaners.

Diamonds have an affinity for grease and literally collect oils in dishwater and from other sources. To reduce greasy build-up on diamond jewelry, dip it in plain alcohol or vodka before soaking.

To clean transparent crystalline gemstones, simply soak them in water with a touch of gentle soap or ammonia. If necessary, use a soft toothbrush to scrub behind the stone. After brushing, simply rinse with lukewarm water and allow them to dry.

Opals require special care. Never use an ultrasonic cleaner, never use ammonia, and avoid heat and strong light, which can dry out the water in opals. Opal rings should not be worn during strenuous work or exercise: they will chip if hit with a sharp blow.

Opaque gemstones like lapis lazuli, turquoise, and malachite, require special care. Never use an ultrasonic cleaner and never use ammonia or any chemical solution.

These gem materials should just be wiped clean gently with a moist cloth. These gemstones can be porous and may absorb chemicals and they may build up inside the stone and discolor it.

Organic Gems
Organic gems like coral and amber should only be gently wiped clean with a soft, non-scratching cloth dipped in lukewarm water, and wiped with a dry soft, non-scratching cloth. Due to their organic nature, these gems are both soft and porous.

Do not put your organic gem jewelry on before hairspray and perfume is applied. Chemicals like these can permanently damage organic gems. Never let organic gems come in contact with strong solutions, soaps, detergents or commercial jewelry cleaning solutions.

All of these can dull the finish and/or give a whitish coating. Keep organic gems away from common kitchen substances such as lard, salad oil, butter and excessive heat of ovens and burners. Avoid exposure to sudden changes of temperature, such as hot tubs, very cold water, and reaching into ovens, followed by a cold sink.

Never put organic gem jewelry in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner, which would shatter the gem.
When not wearing, keep organic gem jewelry away from light in a jewelry box or cloth pouch. Organic gem jewelry should not be stored where it can rub against metal or other jewelry, and storage in a soft cloth is best.

After wearing amber, gently wipe clean with a soft, non-scratching cloth dipped in lukewarm water, and wipe with a dry soft, non-scratching cloth.

The amber can be rubbed with clear olive oil, then rubbed with a soft cloth to remove excess oil and restore the polish.
Pearls require special care. Apply cosmetics, hair sprays and perfume before putting on any pearl jewelry.

After each wearing, gently wipe them with a soft, non-scratching cloth to remove body oils, perfume, etc. as these can spot the pearls. Store them separately from other jewelry in a pouch or box to protect them from scratches. Many chemicals can damage pearls, even those considered to be mild.

Even soft brushes used in applying cleansers can do damage to pearls. Soapy water cleans your pearls, but avoid getting the string wet since it will stretch or break.
Do not toss your pearl jewelry carelessly into a purse, bag or jewel box.

A pearl's surface is soft and can be scratched by hard metal edges or by the harder gemstones of other jewelry pieces. Place pearls in a chamois, silk or satin bag or wrap them in tissue when putting them away. Be sure they are clean and dry before storing.
Proper storage is a must. Ideally, jewelry should be stored in a cool, clean, dry, dark place. Light and heat can affect many pieces of jewelry.

Be sure that your jewelry is clean before storing.
Provide ample space for storage. They should not be in direct contact with other pieces because they can scratch or mar each other.

Use a fabric-lined jewelry case or box with compartments and dividers. If you prefer to use an ordinary box, wrap each piece individually in soft tissue paper, chamois, silk or something similiar. Sterling silver stores well in ziplock plastic bags with or without anti-tarnish tissue.

Press as much air as possible out of the bag to reduce tarnish. Jewelry with pearls or opals will need to be stored in fabric instead of plastic as they need to "breathe." Costume jewelry needs to be stored like jewelry that is made from precious materials if you want it to last.

Dry your jewelry before storage. Moisture can weaken springs and clasps, which increases the likelihood of breakage.

Moisture may also damage certain stones. Do not store jewelry next to a heating vent, window sill, or in the car. Store jewelry away from sunlight. The sun may fade stones.

If you have bead necklaces such as lapis or pearls, store them flat as silk or linen stretches over time. Valuable pieces should visit the jewelers to be professionally restrung every other year or so, depending upon usage.
Silver jewelry is prone to tarnish.

Tarnish is a product of oxidation, caused by the interaction of silver with certain elements such as oxygen or sulfur as well as with certain acids. Tarnishing on silver jewelry, when worn on a regular basis, usually does not occur.

Storage for a prolonged time causes silver jewelry to tarnish. Contact with rubber bands may cause tarnish - the sulfur in rubber is a catalyst for tarnish. Taking a medication that changes the acidity of your skin may cause silver jewelry to tarnish. Touching surfaces such as wood, which contain acids, and other metals can promote tarnish.

ladies silver jewelry

Do you own some fantastic silver jewelry? For sure it would look very beautiful and sparkle when you bought it, but after a period of time it became black and dull. Sterling silver is easy to develop tarnish when it’s exposed to air and other chemicals. So what do you do to make it like new?
Apparently, you could find professional cleaner for polishing silver, and usually it only takes seconds to remove the stain. But it will be a waste of money when you could use some common household products to do it. And they are safe; they won’t hurt your hands. There are several methods to help you to buff silver.

Dish cleaner.
1. Put silver in the warm water and add some mild dish cleaner.
2. Hand washing softly.
3. Dry it with soft kitchen towel or cotton cloth.

Lemon juice or baking soda
Actually it’s a little bit dangerous to use lemon juice or baking soda because they are too strong for silver cleaning. If you don’t mind to take a risk of damage your silver jewelry, you can give it a shot. The steps are the same as dish cleaner.

You could not image that toothpaste could be the perfect cleaner as some professional silver polish products. It really works!

1. Choose toothpaste without any whitening options.
2. Put some toothpaste on your silver jewelry and rub it with a piece of cotton cloth gently.
3. Rinse off with warm water and use towel to dry it.

Other tips
Put silver into Coke for 12 hours to let the stains dissolve; Polish silver with cotton cloth and then dry it.

Lip stick:
Rub lip stick all over your silver jewelry, then risen off with warm water and use towel to dry it.

So right now your silver looks fabulous with the perfect luster, and to keep your silver clean to retain its shining longer we should store silver correctly.

1. Avoid touching rubber, stainless steel, or paint. Because rubber contains sulfur, which is the enemy of silver.
2. Avoid exposing silver a period time to food like eggs, which are high in sulfur.

Keep it dry, when silver get wet, some chemicals in the air are easily to attach to the surface of silver and corrode it.

Although you could store carefully, still, you need to clean and polish silver frequently just like everyday you wash your face. And do not wear silver jewelry in swimming pool; the chlorine could destroy it easily.

Cuff Bracelet

Mix and Match – Wear cuffs with other pieces, such as slim wire bracelets or a signature cocktail ring on the opposite hand to balance your look. Try different colors, textures and styles to bring an eclectic mix to your outfit.

Angles Please – Geometric shaped cuffs in the shape of squares have once again found their way onto this season's list of "Do's". Wear a funky cuff in a bright neon color to give a new spin to a basic outfit. Lime green, bright pink and electric blue can work wonders for an all black ensemble.

All About Fabric – Though traditional cuffs look great in sterling silver or Lucite, ethnic bracelets use beautiful beads, soft suede and leather cord to achieve an authentic worldly look. Play around with a variety of textures to complement a peasant blouse or basic t-shirt and jeans.

Big is Beautiful – Invest in some glam with a gorgeous oversize floral cuff. This is a great way to add interest and try the latest trend, without breaking the bank.

Even Target is in on the trend, offering statement rings and oversized bangles to the masses for a fraction of the cost. So what's all the fuss about?

It's about getting noticed. It's about making a statement. It's about defying the previous rules of fashion and pushing the envelope in terms of how much is too much. Bold jewelry was very popular in 2008, with everything from neon geometric shapes to layer-upon-layer of chains. Today, we continue to see everyone from pop icons to movie stars to college kids wearing this fashionable trend.

The great thing about bold jewelry is that it's meant to be exaggerated. It's meant to have a sort of costume appeal to it. Therefore, many of the pieces available are inexpensive, simply a replica of the real thing. Since all it takes is one bold piece to make your outfit stand out, most anyone can afford to get in on this fun trend.

If you're a little wary about wearing statement jewelry, start with something low-key like a giant cocktail ring, which can add a whole lot of pizzazz to a basic outfit. Work your way up to Cleopatra style bracelets or arm cuffs, if you're daring. Bold jewelry is meant to grab attention, so just be confident, and let your jewelry sets do the rest.

Diamond Grade

Diamond Color-Grey
Diamond Color-Blue

Diamond Color-Yellow

From chemistry point of view, diamond is a mineral and is the hardest substance that already known by human being in the world. It is composed of carbon. Its earliest record dates back to some 3000 years ago in India. Diamonds have always been associated with mystical power and great beauty throughout the history. Recently they are endowed with another meaning-the symbol of power and wealth.

If you are going to spend a substantial amount of money on a diamond, it is necessary to learn diamond grade and how diamonds are graded.

Diamonds are available in varying colors, sizes and qualities. Naturally their colors rang from very clear fine whites to pinks, bright yellows, greens and browns. The majority of diamonds used in jewelry today are white diamonds.

The value of a white diamond is determined by what are commonly referred to as the 4Cs. The 4Cs are the Diamond's Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat. Each of the 4Cs is important and the most valuable Diamonds are those that possess the best of all four measurements.

Clarity is the term used to describe the size and number of flaws known as inclusions in a diamond. The most brilliant diamond always has the fewest inclusions. So the fewer inclusions diamonds have the more valuable they are.

Diamond color grades start at D and continue through the alphabet. Truly colorless stones, graded D, are extremely rare and very valuable. The closer a diamond is to being colorless, the rarer and more valuable it is.

Carat is comparatively common term to us. The weight of a diamond is measured in carats, which is easily for us to understand. The larger the diamond (and therefore the rarer) the more expensive per carat it will be.

While nature determines a diamond's color, clarity, and carat weight, the hand of a master craftsman is needed to release its fire and beauty. The cut gives each diamond its unique sparkle and brilliance by allowing the maximum amount of light to enter and reflect back out of the diamond.

To find the best Diamond that fits within your price range it essentially comes down to a compromise between the 4Cs and your consideration of which factors are most important to you. If you really want a larger stone on a limited budget you could decide to purchase a stone which is graded slightly lower in terms of clarity and color.

Yesterday I attended to my friend Jane's wedding; Jane was very beautiful when wearing a white wedding, red shoes and her face filled with a happy smile. I really envy her! To the most enviable was the HOPE DIAMOND REPLICA CZ necklace, she wear a sky blue CZ necklace in her neck.
She told me "I like it very much! I love it when I see it at the website:

This is a stunning necklace. This sky blue CZ necklace -reminiscent of the Hope Diamond Necklace- begins with a chain made from marquis cut CZs, linked together with tiny silver loops. These CZs meet front and center, at an impressive 16 carat, oval cut, sky blue CZ. The center stone is bordered by a medley of clear marquis, pear, and cushion cut stones that complete Emitations' HOPE DIAMOND REPLICA-CZ Necklace. The pendant is removable, and has a pin on the back so you can wear it as a brooch. Depending on the lighting, and what's underneath it, it can appear aqua or a deeper, more natural blue hue that more closely resembles the real Hope diamond. 16 inch chains usually choke me, but this one is a looser fit. I love it! ……". So her husband bought it as her birthday present.

I like the HOPE DIAMOND REPLICA CZ necklace and will buy one, because i want to become a beautiful girl!

Choose Right Jewelry

With the various trips to different jewelry stores hunting for that perfect piece of jewelry can be taxing. But it doesn?t have to be, if you know what you are looking for. Choosing which fine jewelry to wear is no different than choosing an outfit. The key is to trust your taste and stick to your personal fashion style. For example if you?re an animal lover you can choose from numerous animal jewelry available in the market, from bird jewelry, cat jewelry, to dog jewelry, dolphin jewelry and even horse jewelry.

Although once in a while, it never hurts to step out of the box and try something unconventional like body jewelry or man jewelry, just to add spice. But what's important is that the jewelry should match with the outfit you are wearing. Jewelry is the finishing touch on your total look that will emphasize your fashion.
The first step is to determine what you want them to do. Would you like it to be the center of attention or just to compliment you? Another factor to consider is the occasion you'll be wearing it to. It?s vital to make be sure that it is fitting for the event. For instance a sexy oversized choker might be perfect for a night on the town but not for the boardroom.

Unlike in clothes, there is no need to stick with just one designer even though most people have a favorite designer. In truth there?s no need to fill your jewelry box with designer pieces, there are a lot of wonderful pieces that are unsigned but will surely make a fashion statement. Try scrambling through your jewelry box, take out your antique jewelry, estate jewelry, gold jewelry, diamond jewelry as well as your fashion jewelry and body jewelry. Mixing and matching your old pieces will give it character and a little zest.
The prize of the piece should also be considered. Contrary to what most people believe, jewelries do not have to be diamond jewelry, gold jewelry or precious heirlooms like antique jewelry, estate jewelry, Hawaiian jewelry or Italian jewelry in order to be considered fine pieces. Costume Jewelry, both signed and unsigned, is an example of a fine jewelry and yet it is affordable. A lot of jewelry store sells costume jewelry at a low price and some of them go way back to 1920s. What's great about them is that you can use it, get tired of it, put it away and still get your money?s worth.

The last and perhaps the most crucial factor to be considered is the piece?s size and shape. In this case, bigger doesn?t necessarily mean its better. Going for a bigger piece when your face is small may actually detract rather than attract. It would be good to experiment and find out what looks best on you.
Choices in jewelries are endless ? woman or man jewelry, Italian jewelry or Hawaiian jewelry, fashion jewelry or designer animal jewelries such as bird jewelry, cat jewelry, dog jewelry, dolphin jewelry, or horse jewelry. No matter what your tastes are, your likes and dislikes, you will be able to enhance your look and make a fashion statement little effort in choosing the perfect piece to complement your outfit

Shopping For Clothing for clothing in plus sizes can often be a confusing, overwhelming chore. With a certain amount of shopping savvy, you can turn your next shopping excursion into a positive, productive experience. The following expert tips will streamline your style and help you select the best clothing in plus sizes for you.
Make A List
Before you head to the local clothing for plus sizes retailer, take an inventory of what you have in your closet. Ask yourself, "What clothes make me feel good?" Remove items that you haven't worn for six months or longer. Make a list of what you are keeping and what you think you need to purchase. Keep this list with you when you head to the stores.
Don't Confuse A Trend For True Style
Yves Saint Laurent had it right when he said, "Fashions fade; style is eternal." Consider what you love to wear. Do you have a flattering cashmere sweater, or drawer full of signature scarves? Build your wardrobe around your favorites. Don't feel tempted to buy every fad or trend. You don't have to subject yourself to those "must-have" gauchos this season. You won't feel comfortable in them anyway if they are not right for your personal style or body type. Stick to your tried and true fashion staples, and build around those pieces. A good rule of thumb is to have seventy percent of your wardrobe classic pieces and the other thirty percent dedicated to the fun, funky items that spice up your look.
Know When To Shop
It's always helpful to remember that stores have sales and seasonal clearances on a regular basis. Many stores will offer "beginning of the season" sales of ten to thirty percent, but they will give deep discounts on the same merchandise by the end of the season. So, if you are looking for a trendy item that will only be wearable for one season, pay the higher price and wear it all season. If you are in need of classic items like sweaters, black trousers, and white blouses, buy them at the end of the season to wear next year. You'll delight in knowing that you paid a fraction of their original cost.
Splurge Occasionally - But Only On The Necessitie
It's always a good idea to buy the best quality staple items that you can afford. Don't scrimp on shoes, handbags, or undergarments. You won't be fooling anyone with poor quality pumps, a knock-off designer purse, or an ill-fitting bra. You will feel more confident and special with high quality basics. They also are made to last. One well-made handbag or pair of shoes can last years.
Enjoy Shopping
Finally, make sure to have fun when you shop. Be kind to yourself when trying on different styles (even fashion models don't look good in everything), ask for help when you need it, and remember to buy only what makes you feel special and comfortable

Fall Fashion Tips year's fashion trends for men are following the same path as last year with a few new twists. Preppy is still in but don't pull out your old high school cardigan. The styles have been smartened up a bit. Argyle sweaters are back again this year along with cardigans and sweater vests. Pair them with suits, sports jackets or a pea coat. The western look is also in but don't overdo it. This is still the east coast.
The season's male fashions continue with paisley, checks, plaids and even florals for men's button down shirts. Pair these with black chinos (yes it says black not khaki) or grey jeans (the new in color for men
And speaking of color, dark reds, black, navy and purple in addition to grey are making the scene for men this fall. If you aren't brave enough to wear a purple shirt, then try it in accessories like a tie. Grey is back in a big way in the grey suit. Pinstripes are still going strong but grey flannel suits are in with a vengeance.

The other "in" fabric this season is velvet even for men, but if that is a little too over the top for you, then stick with corduroy.
No matter what you do for fall fashion, be comfortable, be yourself and look good

Flashy Handbags
They are flashy, hot and very in for the season. Metallic, sequence and don't forget the faux fur handbags. Just take a look at a crowd and you will see quite a collection of each of these three. They are not hard to spot and definitely make heads turn. Which head turning style do you like to carry this season?

Let's start with the flashiest of them all, sequence. They are everywhere and everyone is carrying them. They do seem to be a bigger hit with the younger scene. They come in an array of colors as well as sequence styles. Carry them with any outfit and they'll dress it up no matter what the look. Do be careful, the looks you get may only be on your handbag and not on you. If you want your great outfit to stand out, I don't recommend carrying one of these handbags.

Metallic is all the rage also. Just wait for the holiday parties and you will see an explosion of these. They come in many different colors but bronze definitely tops the list. There will be the gold rush in December for all those fancy outfits. Gold is being paired with black and also brown. That black little dress is going to look fabulous with the metallic evening bag and the big beaded necklaces.

Now don't forget the faux fur bags. Some stand out very much but not as much as the sequence and metallics. There are plenty of faux fur trimmed jackets, tops and boots out there. The faux fur handbag will set off the ensemble. Some are a bit on the wild side and others are just really neat looking. As long as they don't make a roar, these are the tamest out there of all three.

Sequence, metallic and faux fur, get them while they are hot!

Tips 4 Formal Dress
You have finally received that invitation to the party of the year. Whether it is a wedding, charity fundraiser, or other black tie event, you will need to head to your local retailer that carries formal dresses in plus size. You want to look your best, yet feel comfortable. There are many choices in formal dresses in plus size, so let's review the best styles for your grand entrance.

You need to ask yourself what you will be doing at the party. Will you be kicking up your heels on the dance floor, posing for a multitude of photos, or greeting dignitaries in a receiving line? What you will be doing should influence what formal dress in plus size you need to select.

If you are a guest at a formal wedding, you will want to look for a dress that you will be comfortable in for at least six to eight hours. As well, because wedding photos will be kept for years and years, choose a style that isn't too trendy. You don't want to cringe twenty years from now when you look at the photos of yourself in the hot pink taffeta ensemble that the salesperson said was the look of the season.
If you will be dancing at the upcoming event, search for a formal dress that flatters the body but isn't snug or restricting. The last thing that you want to be worried about is ripping a seam or exposing more of yourself than you want. Always remember that the fit of a dress is the important thing, not the size on the tag. You will look slimmer in a well-fitting dress than in one that puckers and bunches because it is too tight.

Once you have selected your ideal formal dress, the accessories and footwear you choose will complete your look. If your dress is ornate or cut high on the neck, limit your jewelry to a pair of eye-catching earrings. If you are showing d?colletage, you can get away with a strand of pearls, diamond pendant, or even a statement piece of costume jewelry. Vintage bracelets and brooches look great with strapless dresses.

Since your hemline will most likely cover your footwear, it is perfectly acceptable to wear a sensible heel height. Look for a basic peau de soie or satin pump or sandal. Don't feel obligated to dye your shoes to match your dress. You'll get a lot more wear out of a pair that is a neutral shade.

With a little effort, you can create a perfect look for any special event. The right combination of style and comfort will keep you looking and feeling beautiful throughout the festivities

Fall Fashion Trend

Speaking of colors, last fall it was all about sage greens. This year the color of the season seems to be brown. Brown is everywhere ? suede jackets, pin-stripes pants, skirts and scarves. Add to that splashes of other fall colors like the ones mentioned above, mellow purple, fuschia, orange, etc. and you have the perfect Fall 2005 look. Here is a quick preview of this year?s fall fashions for those looking to update their wardrobes.

The Look: Old-world inspired. Think elegant sepia photographs from the 1940s and 50s. Casual yet sophisticated.

The Trends:
- Tweed skirts, pants (full length and cropped) and culottes in brown plaid or pinstripes. Also making quite a debut are knit jersey gauchos. Very comfy but cool casual.

- Shirts and blouses in floral prints in mellow fall colors. Nothing too overstated.
- Solid color sweaters (no diamond argyle prints like last year). And thanks to Martha Stewart who donned one on her homecoming trip from prison, ponchos! Stick to solid colors, experimenting with designs can get tricky.

- Knee high boots (everyone can carry these off).
- Animal print scarves, faux fur collars (so cool, I just love these)
- Large hobo handbags (must have, anyway). Also, texture is really in - suede, metal, houndstooth prints, anything out of the ordinary.

- Silk kurtis or Indian style tunics in large floral prints in blocks of fall colors.
- Embellished belts ? with tassels, ribbons, sequins, etc.
- Fedora hats (if you like that extra touch of elegance). Some celebrities are also donning big floppy suede hats as well.

Empower Yourself have heard the motto Dress for Success but do you really understand it? Many times this motto is overused but under applied. Under applied? Yes, individuals do not apply the concepts in their work wardrobe when they dress. Instead of Dress for Success, individuals need to Process Dress for Success?. This means they need to understand their industry dress whether it is professional or business casual, invest in quality clothes that gives them a return and pay attention to wardrobe details. When individuals apply this process, they will carry professionalism, reliability and credibility!

Whether you are looking for a job inside or outside your home, secure in a job (you like) or eyeing advancement, your outer appearance is crucial. There are many different industries that allow a variety of dress codes. If you work in a law firm, professional dress is most appropriate; in a creative industry (at home or outside of home) artistic attire is welcomed; and, if you work in the media or public relations field your wardrobe should include fashion. If you are unsure of what to wear to work, ask your human resources professional for your company?s dress code policy or smart business casual is most credible (that is with a blazer). No matter the industry you are in, you need to project a polished image.

Now that you know the requirements, how do you dress? First understand the difference between dressing for your job and dressing for your career. It is easy to just meet the requirements of the dress code but when you put an exerted effort in dressing for your day that is dressing for your career. The benefit: opportunity. Just as important is career dressing is calendar dressing. Dressing for your calendar, whether casual, corporate or social, will positively affect your outcome.
How do you start building your career wardrobe, invest in clothing that will expand your wardrobe rather than narrow it and compliment your body style? If you have a professional dress policy, invest in four suits then add enhancers. Enhancers are pieces of clothing that can expand your wardrobe; shirts, blouses/tops, accessories, ties, suspenders, and shoes. If your work atmosphere is more casual - , business casual (a look of professional with the comfort of casual) - invest in separates that can mix and match and multiply. In either instance, the goal is complimentary dress and expansion - creating new looks with a few, quality pieces which will keep money in your bank account.

Finally, but oh so important, details can make or break your look. You put on a piece of clothing and it is a wrinkled mess! Your smart looking outfit has fizzled. You want a look that is clean, crisp and confident. Ignoring details can put a damper of on your ladder to success.
Empower yourself and look your best because you never know who may be looking at you!

It is just recently that I have developed my fetish for shoes. Earlier, I never paid that much attention to my shoes. I would always prefer to go for a simple pair of shoes that would be comfortable to wear and allow me a snug walk on the busy streets of Mumbai. However, seeing and reading so much about shoes, I decided to have my own little collection too that I can boast of! So the coming few posts will give you a lot of fashion gyan about different types of shoes and where to wear them so that you only make fashion statements and no faux pas!

Today, we will talk about gladiators. Now for those who do not know what gladiators are, they are raw strappy flat sandals and they have their roots in the ancient cities of Rome and Greece where people wore them to war. Today’s gladiators are more stylish and are usually worn over skirts, capris and ancient styled knee length dresses. Gladiators are not supposed to be worn on ethnic Indian dresses such as salwar kameez and churidaar kurta! Also since gladiators have a very raw casual feel to it, you do not wear them for dinners and formal occasions. You wear them as you go for shopping, or an informal brunch or places like that!

Now gladiators of various lengths are available. You need to choose a length that flatters your legs. Knee length gladiators are unforgiving of thick calves, so you need to make a choice accordingly. Do not forget that since the front part of your feet will be seen, you need to follow your pedicure routine!
All kinds of regular wear like trapeze dresses, khaki shorts, long tops, A-line dresses, shirt dresses are all eligible to be worn along with your gladiators. Gladiators are usually in your face types and can be seen distinctly so do not wear heavy chunky accessories as it may be too much for someone to see! Just give all the due attention to your glads! Another good news is that in case you are conscious to wear flats because of your height, heeled gladiators are also available. The first timers should invest in a brown or a black pair that easily goes with all kinds of clothes. So what are you waiting for? Do go pick up one and flaunt them as you walk down the street!

To fulfill his sense of occasion, he can also roam around huge number of footwear brands available in Indian market. Shoes are not just necessity rather; they have become the new style statement. Talking about styles of shoes, casual shoes are hugely popular amongst Indian men. Laced shoes, loafers, ankle boots etc all come under casual shoes. Shoes for Water Sports

If you like to canoe, kayak, or engage in other fun water-based sports, investing in a good pair of sport sandals or water shoes is a great way to keep your feet comfortable, avoid the pain of stepping on rocks with bare feet, and most importantly, keep your shoes from floating away. A pair of flip flops can be dangerous – they can get stuck in the rocks, make you trip, and leave you shoeless when they flip off and float down the river.

Sport and water shoes are also great for the beach (you can easily rinse out the sand), water parks, and at home doing things like washing the car. Teva brand sport shoes are a favorite of campers – they are made to get wet and they are very comfortable.

Most outdoor enthusiasts own Teva shoes. Teva makes quality shoes for men in trail running, sport sandals, adventure, casual, water, and flip flop styles. Teva began as a company seeking durable, water-proof shoes for rafting. Tevas are great when you need a comfortable, waterproof shoe that will work on slippery rocks and stay on your feet.

Man Dress Shoes

Which man dress shoes you pick may at first seem like a simple choice. You might shop around, see something that looks nice, and then pick your favorite color. While this might work, there are many things to consider that might not even cross your mind.

The first thing to consider is what else you are wearing. I know, seems simple, but knowing if this is going to be worn with business casual dress (slacks/dress shirt) as opposed to a full suit does make a difference. With a full suit, you want the nice, traditional polish shoes to compliment the suit, as that is the look you are putting forward with wearing a suit. If you are are dressing more casual, as most places are in recent times, you might consider a comfortable pair of oxfords or rockports.

After all, if you don't have to wear full dress shoes, why not just wear a comfortable shoe.
The average person steps 4,000 - 5,000 times a day. That's roughly 3 miles. This can heavily impact which style of man dress shoes you wear, as well as how the padding and insole are manufactured. Quality speaks for itself, as the saying goes. How well the shoes will hold up is a definite thing to consider.

The above are just some items to consider when you're shopping for man dress shoes, and things normal men don't think about when they're out and decide to grab a new pair of shoes. Shopping online can make it drastically easier to find precisely what you want at the price you want.
